Hey everyone, Drake, known online as Urtar Reviews and today we're going to go over my least favorite hit songs of 2016! 2016 is honestly an overhated year for music, even if the bad stuff really sucks, and it is probably overall my least favorite year of the 2010's decade for pop music by default. Let's get into the list! 10.  Lost Boy - Ruth B (Peak: #24, Billboard Year End: #76, Pulse Jan-Dec: #74, Crownnote: #73) My hatred for this song has faded some over the last few years. There was a time where this would have made my bottom 5, but I guess hearing a song or two from Ruth B. that is actually good has caused me to be kinder to this song? I mean I still think it sucks, but more for being boring then for being something I hate. This song is just so generic and draining to listen to, it kinda sounds like an AI generated piano ballad. Kings & Queens - Ava Max (Peak: #13, Billboard Year End: N/A, Pulse Jan-Dec: #75, Crownnote: #61) Heaven & Hell by Ava Max is one of the best pop albums I've heard this decade so far if I'm being honest. Ava Max has an impeccable ear for melodies and hooks, and it's better written I would argue than many give it credit. This song wouldn't even make my top 5 songs on it (Born To The Night, Torn, Sweet But Psycho, Who's Laughing Now, Salt), but it's still a fantastic pop song in its own right. I have seen some people in this community hate on this song for the lyrics, which I understand, and yeah I agree they're a bit cheesy, but I'm not gonna act like I give a shit about that. Ava Max is an incredible singer, and the chorus melody is phenomenal. The production is beautiful, and the guitar solo is great. I'm so sick of the Ava Max hate. Hey everyone, Drake, known online as Urtar Reviews here, and today we're gonna look at 10 of my top 20 Favorite Hit Songs of 2020! 20. The Bones - Maren Morris (Peak #12, Billboard Year End: #9, Pulse Jan-Dec: #11, Crownnote: #21) This song is interesting, because it was originally written about a relationship that is having issues, but despite that is staying together, and released as an album track on Maren Morris's 2019 album GIRL. But it was released as a single in late 2019, and eventually became huge throughout 2020 as a song many came to for comfort and helping us believe that we could make it through the pandemic. In fact, it ended up becoming one of only a few songs to make the top 10 of a Billboard Year End list without ever hitting the top 10 on the weekly charts. Also interesting is that I didn't love this song back when the pandemic was going on, I thought it was good but it just never clicked until recently.   Hey everyone, it's Drake, known online as Urtar Reviews and today we are going over my least favorite hits of 2020. 2020 was obviously a horrible year for most of us in real life with the COVID-19 pandemic, the George Floyd incident and more, but how was it for music. Well, while I enjoyed the pop music scene of this year back when it was going on, for the most part, going back to this year in 2023, while it is certainly a more interesting year than 2022 or 2023 so far, there is a lot of stuff I hated from this year and while the good stuff does make up for it and still leave it a decent year overall, man do I hate the worst songs from this year. Everything happening in 2020 carried over to the pop music scene, leaving the year with a lot of downbeat depressing music, and while some of that is good, a lot of it was not if you ask me.
